I drained the rear end gear lube today in the 65 9" rear end. I believe it to have a traction lock. It was filled with a redish-pink lube (looks kinda like Pepto Bismol). Can anyone identify this lube for me as I would like to replace it with the same stuff? Thanks much.

Can you tell me why you think the 75W90 with the friction modifier would be a better choice than the Shockproof? By the way what came out was Shockproof. Thanks.
Didn't really wear it out...but I don't know when it was changed last...so I wanted to put fresh in it.
I'm just not sure the car will see the shock loading that would require the Shock Proof oil. It won't hurt anything. We sell all of it and I generally use the 75W90 in my track car. The 75W90NS won't have friction modifier if that's what you want (sometimes I'll even mix the two). You can always call Red Line at 800-624-7958 and get a recommendation. You'll usually be redirected to the president...Dave Granquist. My guess is that he's at or heading to SEMA about now but someone should be able to help.
