1969 SCJ GT500 for sale on E-Bay - What's your opinion?

Sounds cheap to me. I will bet it ends for quite a bit more. Randy Roberts is a well known and respected restorer. I believe he restored the Tasca Boss 429. As for the question about the original engine, ask the seller. His name and phone number is in the ad. There is a few high rollers bidding on the car and I bet they have done their research on it. Remember, it is a Shelby with a rare color and a Super Cobra Jet engine.

One first needs to check the registry to see if the car was a yellow and a scj automatic cars

Other than that - opinion.

Need to see more -better engine pictures to confirm that at least the external SCJ stuff is there

Might make a nice driver but plenty of things to change and fix if you want to show the car

Please explain what is wrong as I am not a 69 Shelby guy. The car is a four speed not an automatic.

First - the purpose of this response is not to down grade, make fun or in anyway reflect on the car nor it's present or past owners. It is meant for education and discussion only. Would not want to do something like this if the auction was still active.

What would I correct if it were mine and I planned on showing the car? Well here is what I can see from the limited number of pictures we see. None of them are Shelby issues but regular Mustang issues based on where and when this car was built
NOTE: Many of the pictures are taken during the restoration rather than when finish so many may have been changed

1. Engine compartment - Front upper shock mounts incorrect finish, CAUTION FAN decal not correct, lacks battery heat shield, lacking vacuum hose tye,

2. Under the car - Finish of the steering system (should be dark due to heat treating) upper A arms incorrectly finished, upper A arms with zert fittings, sway bar hardware, replacement front spring saddles - incorrect finish, unknown if the caliper ever received safety wiring, front brake hardware finish, unsure if they were left that way but the rear end nuts appear to be lacking washers and have incorrect finish, 3ed member painted incorrectly, Front wheel wells appear to be blacked out incorrectly,

3. Misc - Driving light lenses appear to be replacements

I likely missed a number of things... getting a bit late but looks to be a very clean car that someone spent allot of time doing. Very pretty car from what we can tell in the pictures. Hope the new owner will be very happy with it
