    Hey there,

    I am moving forward on my project here.

    I am looking for a 428 Police Interceptor block, heat riser spacer, and a pair of 390GT/428PI Exhaust manifolds right and left.

    The block/parts need to be dated before May of 1967. I have a 428 CJ dated "7C23" (March 23rd 1967) for sale/trade.

    Any leads would be appreciated.

    Mike:thumbsup:

    You might try Perogie Enterprises. They seem to have some of the more difficult pieces to find. Priced accordingly.

    Get this, looks like the car may the original engine after all. Apparently the C8ME-A, is often confused with C6ME-A due to poor casting. The casting date of March 23, 1967 jives with what an original block would be dated. We are pulling the pan shortly, to finalize.

    The guys on the FORD FE forum are awesome, super helpful.

    That would be great news. I have heard of similar issues detecting the casting. Can you show photos? I would like to see.

    Yes good news ... if its so. So its a late 67 car, we just completed one this year that took the Div I gold at SAAC this year.

    67 is such a paint with all the early/late running changes :(

    Holy good fortune batman, it was "C6ME-A" and it is the original engine. Verified the following information today.

    It does have CJ heads, that's what threw us off. So I am looking for PI heads.

    Info we uncovered today:

    * C6 (not C8 as previously thought) ME-A Casting indicates a '66 or '67 block (depending on casting and stamped dates)
    * 7C23 Date Code Cast in Oil Filter Adapter Pad (1967, March, 23)
    * Distance between cylinder liners of 15/64" (consistent with 428 bore size rather than other FE blocks of smaller cubic inches)
    * 7D8 (1967, April, 8) also stamped in one of the pads on block
    * 1U 428 PI 3.98 stroke Crankshaft (Gound .010 Mains/.010 Rods)
    * C6AE-A Connecting Rods
    * L2303NF .030 TRW Forged Pistons (428 w/4.160 bore= 433 CI)
