I have sent this guy a few email in regards to the car he is selling. He is telling me this is a Shelby Mustang. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...MEWA:IT&viewitem=&item=160053863301&rd=1&rd=1
Well it is a fastback! Wern't all fastbacks Shelbys. This is one of those rare C-codes with a Ford V.I.N number.
What??? It's a fast back??? I see a coupe in the photos. All fastback were not Shelbys all Shelbys were fastbacks. Maybe something is wrong with my computer or something but this is a C-Code 67 coupe. Now Shelby did make some coupes for Trans Am racing but I thought those were K-Codes, and this isn't one. Maybe I'ts me...
Looks like he revised the descirption, removing "Shelby" Now he just wants 55K for a lo-po Mustang coupe that needs a ton of work - Good Luck.
Shows how much attention I was paying to the ad  ! Guess I need to reload my pipe and take another hit.
This all started because I thought he made a mistake in the add in asking 55K. I thought he meant $5,500. Then he says that this is the price range everyone else is asking. I said, oh yeah, where? So going back and forth he says this is a Shelby, and that is when I thought, oh, this guy is smoking dope or terribly mis-informed. After many emails, I think he is starting to back peddle
Things like this shouldn't surprise us. Every part that remotely could have been on a HiPo or Shelby is listed on Ebay as such. (HiPo battery terminal rings?) How about the guy selling 65 Fairlane station wagon rear brake shoes as "Correct 65 Shelby shoes" I have asked him four times whether or not they have the Velevtouch lings like the "Correct" ones had and have yet to get a reply. Recently a guy advertised a stock 289 crank as a HIPo, when I cornered him he said he "thought" it was a HiPo but couldn't find out how to tell. A lot of this stuff is just simple fraud. Buyer beware.
I think this guy watched to much of the Barret Jackson reruns on Speed Channel. Although even with alcohol and egos in the mix this car would not bring 1/3 as much as he is asking.
With all of these RARE and one of a kind parts, it may be worth much more. PSST----Don't tell him. [trunk led, inerbed has no rote, value covers, carborato, fuel trank regulator and more].What in the HEXX do you expect? This is a 1967 ford mustang . It needs a new paint job. Has brand new seat leather, brand new headliner, Brand new hood and trunk led, Brand new tires, tail lens, brand new crome bumpers for front and back .inerbed has no rote chase was rebuilt, brand new front inspections air shocks orinal 289 broad out 30 over. Traning was just rebuilt. new fuel trank regulator. Has spare tires, spare hood , intake, value covers carborarto. Runs excellent. New drums and disc brakes
This car, needing a paint job, is worth about 9-12K at the most. There is nothing special or rare about the car that I can tell.
I'd have made him an offer, but I'd have to have the original carborarto if I were to purchase.... Those things are worth a fortune!
It must be worth a fortune because I have never heard of a carborarto. I am always a day late and a dollar short
