I,ve heard the 1967 shelby had adds in playboy magazines.Does anyone know what editions they came in and how many different adds? mike lucioone@aol.com
That's one way to get the wifey to let you buy Playboy... Sorry, can't help with the issues - I would guess late '66/early '67 though. I did find some pics of the ads: HERE
Actually if you look at the '69-70 link, you will see the playmate of the year in '69 that was given a Shelby. The only pink one: I remember an aricle some years ago in the Shelby American. She still had the car at that point. It had been repainted to a more normal color and she understood the value of the car. I think shortly after the article came out she sold the car, but I don't remember any specifics. I am sure Howard Pardee knows the details
I'd have to dig them out. I bought the entire year (1967) of Playboys on Ebay a couple of years ago. Was about $28.00 with shipping. Don't bother getting into a bidding war, there is often another set the next week. I recall there where about 5 issues with the Shelby Ads. All our favorites like: "Do you Trust your wife?", "everybody looks", and "is this any way to sell a car". The 69 Shelby was the "Playmate of the year" issue. I wonder if Ms Kresske still owns the car, or what ever happened to it. The registry said it was a 428 car with black interior, painted pastel white. No doubt Playboy had the car painted pink. And, the 65/66/or67 (can't remember the year) "Playmate of the year" received a pink Sunbeam Tiger.
