Got these pics back today. The shop said it was the most solid 67 they had seen. It was originally a Florida car so not any lot of rust to speak of. This is 1 of 10 Wimbleton white GT500's that were built with Automatic Transimission and Air. Car is VERY original, has the original engine etc.... Happy Holidays Mike
The GT500E is waiting for it's supercharged big block which is backed up until March. So the car is just sitting and waiting right now. It has not gone to final paint yet but that happens when they have a delivery date for the engine. I am being patient.
Body shop is done with the car, now re-assembly. Need a fan blade and clutch, hollar if you know of a very nice one. Not being biased, this a Mac Daddy 67, 1 of 10 in Wimbleton White with automatic and air. All documentation and every title back to the origination statement from J.D. Ball Ford in Miami. Mike
Mike- Car looks great...looks like it's moving along pretty fast. I also have a white GT500 from Florida that was purchased at J.D. Ball in Miami, but mine is a 1969. I have heard of other Shelby's coming from that same dealership. They must have been a pretty big high performance shop. Do you have any info on J.D. Ball? My car isn't quite as along as yours, but hopefully someday ill get there. I'm still in the tear-down stage. Have a good one Brian
I did a Google search on them and came up with very little. Someone out there has to know something about that Dealership. Hollar if you do. Mike
Got the 428 PI back from the shop, looking nice!! The car is starting to come together, got the engine back today for the 67 GT500!!
Car is done!!! I received these pics back today, so stoked to finally get to drive it!! I may bring it to SAAC in Utah.
About 65 Days From start to finish. Body shop put 3 guys on it, re-assembly was 2 full time. They have done a bunch of these so all the parts were sorted and ready to go when the car got back. Engine was rebuilt while the car was at the body shop. I got to admit when he said 2 months, I thought "NO WAY". They did it. The restorer is a former SAAC concours judge (10-15 years ago). Only thing original I need on the car are some Magstars which I will find. Engine has not been cranked as it is -5 Degrees in Chicago. Car will be shipped to San Diego in a month. He's working on the KR right now. Mike
Congratulation!Truly a beautiful car.Mine also came from J.D.Ball,shipped dec.22 1966 with some twelve other Shelbys.Too bad they're not around anymore.
Not a whole lot of information on them anywhere that I can find. I Googled J.D. Ball Ford and did not find a lot. I wonder of the SAAC guys in Florida or that region have an information. Mike
