I need one for an early 1966 calendar build date GT350. Please reply at lashdeep at yahoo dot com Thank you, LS
Furthermore...the radiator I removed from my car did not have any dates or codes marked on the top tank. Is it safe to assume that it's a reproduction? Did all original rads have some sort of factory markings on them? Thank you, LS
lashss, Yes, original Ford radiators had factory markings on them. For an early ( how early? ) changeover '66 Shelby for example: On top of the radiator tank you will find two (2) flat spots about an 1 1/2 inch square each. One will be stamped C4ZE G2; the other will have the date code W-KO 7 65. Since your radiator has no markings, it can be assumed that it's a generic replacement. Hope this helps. shlby66
Thanks for the reply. The car is an early calendar year 1966 (April order date) but not a crossover car. And yes, since the damaged radiator was without markings, I can assume it was a repro. In that case, a brand new repro will do just fine until I can source an original. Thank you! LS
Radiators provided to and installed at San Jose were different from the other two plants. In addition the top tank will be marked with the date and marked if it was installed in an automatic, stick car and 6 cyl or 289. All this makes for finding a correct radiator (especially for a stick V8) currently have about 5 guys looking for different dates for 65 and 66
And if one were to find a rebuildable 65 or 66 radiator, what is the going rate? Does anyone have an original '66 radiator for a 4spd GT350? It's sounding more and more like I should just install the new repro I have. Thanks for all the replies. LS
Will keep a look out. Just sold a 1-66 that needed a rebuild for $650, paid $750 for the one in my 66 about a year ago.
