Should be the same as any other Mustang .. except for the lack of radio and rear seat area. Would ahve to look at the sheets to see if they left off the seat belts and/or horn center (assume your not referrign to the first few R's)

i found one photo, but it was a resto done by a nonshelby type shop. the car had no carpet, no trim, alumn painted door panels, dont know about head liner, no glove box door, etc. i think it still had the center cap on horn, but i dont know if it was a concourse resto or not.....

The way you describe the car in the picture would not have been the way the cars were delivered to Shelby.

    Sorry Roger misunderstood "factory" ;)

In any case don't remember seeing any original pictures. Only left with restored examples

I stuck my head inside the window of quite a few of them "in the day" As I recall they were very"spartan". I was a pit crew member of a D Production Jaguar XK 140 that raced in most of the Nationals in the north-east US area in 65, 66, 67,( Bridgehampton, Lime rock, Marlboro, Bryor, Harrisburg(?). My own 65 clone is reverse colors (blue with white stripes) because thats what Donoue's GT 350 was. I always thought they looked better that way.
The rules then were basicly.. anything that was not important to the cars function you could take off. The cars were stripped inside. There was a minimum weight factor...If you took off enough stuff to get below that weight.. You could add the weight back in a place that would help the car handle better..
    Read Donohue's book "Unfair Advantage"

The race cars were all a few at a time things.. they would not sell them in the beginning to just anyone. I am sure that ones destined to race in South America or Mexico were different than the cars Jerry Titus, Walt Hane and Bob Johnson got. You are on your own with this project.. anything goes.. Good luck

CAR LIFE did a whole special issue on Mustang around 1966
and had a three pge story on the GT350R model showing inner door panels, etc. This was before any were sold to race teams.
You can probably find it on ebay. It had a white GT350 on the cover, front 3/4 view. Of course the official factory photographer probably has the same shots if you can contact him.
