When I bought #02751 67 GT350 back in the early '80s, the spare wheel had a Goodyear Polyglass tire on it.

At the time I thought it might have been an original factory fit tire, but having done a little research I find that Goodyear Speedway 350s were the only tires listed as factory fit in '67.

I still have the tire (no, it's not on the road  ) and was wondering if there is a date stamp on it somewhere that might give a clue as to when it was fitted to the car.

    Any ideas?

Greetings! hope all is well in the U.K.! saw your tire question and thought i'd give some input. In the mid 60's the Goodyear polyglass was a very popular and reasonably priced tire, thus it ended up on most muscle cars as a replacement for the original equipment. There are now very good reproduction tires available from places like coker tire if you need them. They are not a good tire for driving on,when compared to anything available today because tire technology has changed. If you drive your car on the road at all,a new speed rated tire is your best choice..Iwouldn't use the polyglass for a road tire under any circumstance--display only--tires are such a big concern for saftey.TAKE NO CHANCES!! we often say you get what you pay for.And all tires carry a date code cast into them near the bead, normally on the inside edge, you will see several numbers and a D.O.T. number.Maybe someone on this site works with goodyear? Cheers!

Ah, watch out for that "mid-sixties" date. Those tires that start with the
"X"/60-"XX" were introduced to the buying public no sooner than the middle of the 1968 model year. And, I really believe it was more like the 1969 model year.

Yes the speedway 350's came in small and large letter versions. Only a few short runs of the smalls have been reproduced and the large letters are more common, as reproductions, because that style also applies to the 68's

Yes there is a date code on the tire. Will ahve to dig out a couple of original to take a picture of the dating unless someone beats me to it
