Final 2007 Barrett-Jackson Shelby Prices I thought it would be nice to have our own copy of this here on our forum instead of people having to go look at it elsewhere. It was pretty evident this year that there were less quality cars and more qualified buyers. Buyers who are spending this kind of money hire people to go to the show with them and tell them what is good and what is repop city. I talked to a few people there and they said "The good cars, got the good prices." "You see some lower prices because a lot of the good cars are being held onto from past years and what you are seeing here are cars that weren't that good to begin with being dressed up to look a little better". I got to tell you as much as I like to see BJ promote the cars, the image of people boozing on stage and people only on stage to be on TV kind of made want to puke. I think only actual bidders and the auctioneer should be allowed up there. I think BJ needs to watch their image a bit, started to look like a big party for the owners and their buddies on stage. I was tired of watching guys spill their Margaritas on the $200k cars after a while. 99 1968 SHELBY GT500 FASTBACK $192,500.00 460 1969 SHELBY COBRA ROADSTER RE-CREATION $55,000.00 937 1965 SHELBY COBRA ROADSTER REPLICA $73,700.00 1025 1968 SHELBY GT500 CONVERTIBLE $313,500.00 1026 1967 SHELBY GT500 FASTBACK $145,750.00 1028 1966 SHELBY GT350 CONVERTIBLE $104,500.00 1044 1968 SHELBY GT350 FASTBACK $110,000.00 1049.1 1968 SHELBY GT500 CONVERTIBLE $165,000.00 1230 1999 SHELBY SERIES 1 CONVERTIBLE $90,200.00 1247 1968 SHELBY GT500 CONVERTIBLE $187,000.00 1254 1968 SHELBY GT500 KR FASTBACK $181,500.00 1258 1967 SHELBY GT350 FASTBACK $170,500.00 1267 1968 SHELBY GT500 KR CONVERTIBLE $181,500.00 1272 1968 SHELBY GT500 KR FASTBACK $154,000.00 1290.1 1968 SHELBY GT500 KR FASTBACK $247,500.00 1290.2 1968 SHELBY GT500 CONVERTIBLE $220,000.00 1300 2007 SHELBY GT FASTBACK "SERIAL #001" $660,000.00 1301 1966 SHELBY COBRA 427 "SUPER SNAKE" $5,500,000.00 1305.1 1967 SHELBY GT500 FASTBACK $242,000.00 1309.1 1970 SHELBY GT500 1 OF 1 CONVERTIBLE $253,000.00 1966 SHELBY COBRA 427 ROADSTER CSX3301 $935,000.00 1317 1967 SHELBY GT500 E FASTBACK $231,000.00 1967 SHELBY GT500 E CUSTOM FOOSE FASTBACK $247,500.00 1329 1967 SHELBY GT500 FASTBACK $192,500.00 1332.2 1968 SHELBY GT500 KR FASTBACK $176,000.00 1336.1 1968 SHELBY GT500 KR CONVERTIBLE $189,750.00 1354.1 1967 SHELBY GT500 FASTBACK $132,000.00 (427 Side Oiler) 1354.2 1967 SHELBY GT350 FASTBACK $110,000.00 1526 1966 SHELBY COBRA ROADSTER REPLICA $66,000.00 1553.1 1968 SHELBY GT500 KR FASTBACK $234,000.00 1565 1965 SHELBY COBRA 4000 Cont. $163,800.00 1565.1 1967 SHELBY GT500 FASTBACK $319,000.00
Interesting.. the "eleanor" clone things went for more money than most of the real 67 Shelbys.. I don't get it?? jimbo
Qualifier I am partial, I own a real 67 GT500 and a 67 Unique Supersnake Convert. There is an entire new arm of the hobby that love the Resto-Mod/Contuation/Unique Performance/Foose Shelby's. They are MEAN, I mean MEAN cars. My eyeballs compressed in my head when I stood on the Supernsake I test drove. They are much like the CSX 4000 Cobra's. Unique recently hired a top production executive from Shelby American who persoanlly oversees the build of each of these cars. Only 75 Supersnakes built, those two were custom builds for the Orange County Chopper guys. The are basically race cars legailized only by their original 67 Ford Vin they all carry along with their new Shelby VIN Ford approved. These are not some fad, Unique did this the right way, with Carroll Shelby, with SAAC etc.. Not some one off deal, they worked their ass off to do this right. I did't spend my $$$k until I went there personally and met the staff. Mike
mherman2, As a dial-up user, I really appreciate you posting the results...you saved me alot of aggravation. Thanks again .
That's what I don't get. Ccode beats GT500 .. Maybe the Shelby buyers "in the know" or the ones with hired help as mentioned above stay away from real shelbys that are not full of real deal parts... ...while the other crowd standing there, the guys that buy things that look good and go fast are not so hindered by date codes, part numbers etc.. they just go crazy without a care. Would be interesting to graph this year's Shelby prices with last years.
I was there on Friday nite and Sunday. The entire event is a Circus geared to the wealthy, but a Circus none the less! why did Carroll Shelby take a Motorcycle from OCC in trade for a car that the Walrus Teutal only put 75 miles on and then sells it here at B-J?? looks swhady. they dumped several vehicles at this auction. maybe they want to buy their own network and need the capitol?? they did well. yes there were Posers on stage. D list actors trying to be somebody. Goldberg also was there of course as this is his only reason to be on television anymore. Craig Jackson appeared bored with the whole thing. and it rained and was a Mud hole. On Sunday it even Snowed!! FORD had a great set up with two new Shelby GT Mustangs strapped down and they let people run through the gears in a simulated drag race. it was great to see the car I am waiting for in person!! the White GT500b used in the Germany commercial was there as well. Yes it is a Joke when you really dissect the whole thing but it works! and I will enjoy watching it on Television even more than before after actually having been there. it is great for the Scottsdale economy. as for the Drunken Millionaires, they are having fun! and they had more Trophy wives in attendance who were great to look at when you tired of looking at cars!! my advice, GO and enjoy yourself if you ever get the chance! and I did buy 3 T shirts but that was it!!
crystal ball stuff...... but why no 65 or 66 GT350's ??? (other than the continuation '66 convertible). Are owners just hanging on to them? cheers.
I attended both BJ and Russo and Steel. Keep in mind that there were 5 major car auctions going on in or near Scottsdale. Both events had nice original and not so original cars in my opinion. I was amazed how close these two auctions were to each other. Just across the highway, literally. Several of them were well overpriced, while others were underpriced. I knew several of the owners of the Shelbys that came from the Northwest and they got more than what they predicted. For me, the strongest point was talking to the owners of these vehicles. I tried to void those who were pure salesman and had long talks to those who actually spent time with their cars like myself. Thanks for the update concerning the prices of these Shelby's Mherman2! Those are my two cents.....
Did anyone see the #0039 67 GT350 car up close at BJ? Just curious as to the quality of that car. Randy
