68 GT350 with t5 5spd

    any one out there withthe swap and low gears- 3.90-4.10? debating wether to change from 3.55 to 4.10. my concern is first gear being to low because of the3.35 first gear in the t5.:: thanks

    I have a T5 and 3.89 gears. First gear is too low. 2 through 5 are perfect though. I would hesitate to go any to a higher gear ratio (4 +). If you do your hi-way cruise RPM would suffer. For me 55 mph is 2000 rpm nice and easy. Somebody makes a cluster gear setup to change the first gear ratio to something that works better. If get bucks up someday I will do that.

    I have 3.91 gears in my 69 with a T5. First gear is a waste.

    thanks for the reply. thats what i thought. im kicking myself for not getting the t5 close ratio.
