Has anyone used any of the new base coat/clear coat Acapulco Blue paint codes lately? In recent years I’ve seen restored 68 Acapulco blue cars that seem to have a lighter shade of blue then what was on my car originally. I think the original blue on my car was closer to Guardsman blue but some restored cars I see are closer to the Sapphire Blue found on 66 Hertz cars.

    Thanks,
    Rod

I used the ppg 13357 formula and I think its dead on. I've parked it next to an original paint car and didn't see a difference.

Thanks for the input. How recently did you paint it?

3 years ago. I had my painter check it against one of the old fenders before he sprayed it as well. Here's a pic,

Looks good! I’m going to have some test painting done too before the whole car is sprayed. Better to find out what’s actually in the can –before- it’s on the car! I’m sure the codes are correct but why take a chance.
    Thanks again…
