Can't believe I just found this site. Looking forward to lots of interaction as I'll have lots of questions when I go to put my motor back in... Any volunteers? Thanks, Bob

Jim, Thanks for your reply... I used to live in Lake Ridge when I was in High School. My sister still lives there. What part of Lake Ridge are you in? I'll certainly not turn down any assistance and thank you very much for your offer! Do you have any experience with 4sp Toploaders at all? My biggest concern is getting the new clutch installed and the shifter linkage adjusted correctly. BTW, I supply all beer and grubbage to all hands that get dirty!

    Regards, Bob

I'll be on the next plane! Seriously adjusting a toploader linkage is fairly simple. Secret is put shifter on transmission outside of car (minus handle of course) adjust arms with dowel in place and stuff her in. Just remember to remove dowel after adjusting. I did this once and thought trans was locked:doh:

Tim, I'll pick you up at the airport! Seriously, you would always be welcome in my home, you have been a very generous dispensor of Shelby wisdom and trinkets. It is greatly appreciated and hopefully I'll eventually have a chance to repay you somehow. Especially now that I know you are a homie! I'm still somewhat in shock over just how small of a world it is...

I live off of Oakwood Drive, not too far from Woodbridge Sr. High School. I helped a friend convert a '68 Cougar from a C4 to Toploader, so I do have some 4-speed experience.

Beer is always a plus! :)

Jim, Know that area well. I'm assuming you are on the Valleywood section of Oakwood Dr? Back in the mid 70's, I lived over in the Manors on Oakwood Dr. (12206 to be exact) before moving 2 blocks over to Wm & Mary Circle. Graduated from Woodbridge there in 1978. My sister is over off of Mohican.
You are inhabiting my old stomping grounds...
Your toploader experience will be muco appreciated. I've never even attempted to adjust any of the linkage or clutch prior and when I pulled the motor recently, I did leave the tranny in place.

William and Mary is right around the corner from me, I live on Shenandoah Court. I graduated from Woodbridge in '90. My brother graduated from Woodbridge in '80. He was on the football team, if you remember "Stan the Man" Karamanis.... from his playing days.
