Hello everyone it's nice to find a site with so many Shelby devotees. I have a question that hopefully someone can answer for me: my father was once the proud owner of a 1966 GT-350 Hertz Blue/gold striped Shelby in beautiful condition. He sold it to a buyer out of CA back in 1989 and it was shipped to Europe soon after....the question is: he still has the original owner's manual that came with the car and it's in good condition, slightly yellowed pages but all the pages are intact and undamaged. I've searched online and the only manuals I can find for a '66 Shelby are reprints..Does anyone have a ballpark figure for what an interested buyer would be willing to pay for one of these? Thank you ! Dave In MN-
I own a 66 Shelby GT350 Hertz car # 814. I would be most interested in an original owners manual. Now the price: I could tell you $20, but that would not be fair or honest. Do some research and then please let me have a crack at buying it......My email is sstcobra@comcast.net. Gary
Hello Dave, If you are really considering the sale of your father's manual ... I would recommend e-Bay. Original manuals generate interest and competition. As long as the manual is in good condition ... no tears, missing pages, or writing. Rick
Ebay would be the place. I've seen 67 owners manuals go for enormus dough. Or, at least see what some 66 Shelby owner here would give you. As it is, the 2nd owner of my 67 GT 350 did not have an owners manual when ho bought the car in 1968. He wrote to Shelby, who sent him a 65 gt 350 manual. I still have it, but, since my car is a 67, I have it filed. The cover is a little worn but it is complete. I'm forever wondering should I post it on ebay, or save it as a part of my car's history.
Thank you all for your response it's been helpful. I/my father isn't sure whether we would like to part with it yet or not, but I certainly wouldn't mind seeing the manual go to someone who really needs it to complete their collection. I haven't tried the EBay route but may post it if we decide to sell it. It does appear to be a rare item. Otherwise anyone interested can feel free to contact me at ddragich@hotmail.com and I can send a photo of it. Thanks again
