   that doesnt look like a 9" to me, looks like a 8" housing.....did the R cars only have 8" rears??

   That is a 9 inch. 65 and 66's have the 9 inch rear end with tapered axle tubes. 8 inch rear is oval shaped, not as round as a 9 inch.
