    Hey Dan,
My car number is 923...that makes it an early car...?...
Should have, would have, the 'COBRA' intake...
unless customer installed...this was a drag car for years, makes it
    more than likely customer installed...

    Cevon...

    Cevon,

Important to remember that the intake was an update/recall item for 68.
Many early cars came with cast iron intakes that were swapped out for the
high performance aluminums. This meant that the dealer was responsible for
the install IF...the customer even brought the car in. This also meant that
an over the counter intake or two could have been installed at the time,
especially at the smaller dealers. This may or may not relate to your
    particular car.

    all the best,

    Dan Belick

One of my cars was as early, it had one that said "Shelby". The motor had
never been out of the car and had sat tince 1977. It was likely dealer
installed at a later time, when the recall replacement was done. As you
say, the Cobra intake is correct, S7MS. Just noting that not all cars got
the correct thing at the time...

    all the best,

    Dan
