Hello all, Although I love Shelby's and Fastbacks, I am a Pontiac nut.... I was going through some boxes that have been in my garage (at least 10 years) and really enjoying all the old Muscle Car Mags etc. that I was finding, when all of a sudden I come across what I believe to be an original 1965 Shelby gt 350 owners manual. Of course I started to look on line for some information and all I ran across was a whole bunch of reproduction 1965 Shelby gt 350 owners manuals. Can sombody help me to verify that I have an original? Did they make reproductions 10 or more years ago? Do the reproductions have anything that identifies them as such? This is my first post..... My brother-in-law just bought a 1965 A code fastback (100% disassembled!!) and we have been having fun the last month or so putting it back together. Thanks in advance for any replies! Jim
Yes somebody here can help you verifty original vs repro. I believe we have discussed the 1965 manuals before but I may be thinking about 1966. Please do a thread search and see what you find and I'm sure someone will respond shortly with additional information. Randall
Thanks for the information.... I did the thread search and found enough information to realize that I must have a reproduction that was made some time ago. I'm sorry to bother you folks! Although, we may be doing some Shelby mods to the 65 A code fastback.... This seems like a great place! I'm glad I found it. Thanks Again - Jim
You can go to my web site www.1965gt350mustang.com and punch up the memorbilia section and there should be photos of my original owners manuals. For 1965, it is easy, the front and rear covers fold out, like a centerfold. The rear one had a part that was perforated so it could be ripped out and sent to the LAX address so a GT350 club could be organized. Unfortunately, it never was started. Hope this helps, most manuals have the rear fold out torn off.
