I know they are supose to be black, but what color black? semi gloss? satin? full gloss? Any specific paint manufacturer the best to use? and/or closest to color match? Thanks - Roger
Re: correct color for 65 dust shileds for brakes? Semi-gloss black - a little more gloss than engine compartment since they were dipped and not sprayed. If your shooting from a gum most painters play with mixes to get the right color. Most of the rattle cars are pretty good if you shoot them in a cooler air. I tend to bake the shields after they dry to get a tougher finish. Depending on the rattle can you use this can improve the gloss or flatten it a bit. Just ahve to play with what is available
Re: correct color for 65 dust shileds for brakes? I have SEM semi-gloss black. i'll trythat one...... i remember at one time mustangs monthly had an article explaining differences between the grey-black and black trim, and whatcolors to use, but i cant find it... - Roger
