Greetings! I'm sorry. This will be my last visit for a while to your forum. I found another classic to tinker with. Unfortunate - well it depends on who you talk to. If your a Ford person, then its considered unfortunate. I've never been one to have a brand (OEM) favorite. My employer appreciates that as well. I work for a Tier I Automotive Supplier - in research and product development validation engineering. My responsibilities cover the Big 3 (American companies) and several International OEMs as well. I will officially be leaving the forum. Since I sold my 65 Fastback, I was unable to locate another Mustang or Ford to my liking, I found another classic that will now be taking my time. However, its still an American classic. Dare I say - Its a California original. A rust-free 1965 Chevelle Malibu SS. Thanks again to all for your support. There are a lot of wonderful folks here. Having been there when some of the Classics were musclecars and some were just transportation, I must say that they are all great. I have always been a Ford person but I have also always respected the other persons right to have and enjoy whatever they liked. Good luck and I hope everybody in the Chevy world treats you as well as I am sure the Shelby world did. Frank

You guy's are a Hoot! I can't remember the last time I laughed that hard. First of all, where I'm going, "The dark side" - that's funny, there is no way, shape or form that I would not see a Shelby GT350 at the top of the leader board as the most prolific legend ever to run the streets. Huh, maybe I do have "blue blood" running through me after all. It was one of those things. I didn't plan on selling the mustang, I was offered a price I couldn't refuse. After I realized what happened, my girl was gone. An empty feeling came swooping in and I was feverishly searching everywhere for its replacement. I don't think anything will compare with that body style - ever. I kinda fell into the Chevelle Malibu. Again, it was one of those deals that come along you just have to take advantage of. Yes, its styling is an acquired taste. Is it a little sporty? A little. Is it dated? Yes. Is it stylish? Well, maybe a little. I think those who really do like it, are those who are from that era. It may have either been their parents car - their first car or, if they bought, was what they could afford at the time. All kidding aside, I may not be dedicated to or a particular brand fan, but I'm no dummy either. I know class and style when I see it - The 65-66 Fastback was then and is today "The Bomb!" I didn't spend as much time as I would have liked to on your forum, but for the time I did spend, it was a lot of fun and a great learning experience reading all of your "experiences" with your cars. This internet technology, its a real thing of beauty to behold. When its done right, amazing things can happen. Here, it brought a group of strangers together who, share a common thread and Shazam! Rudy, That Malibu is a very nice car! As I remember in 1965 (Iowa)..the Malibu was the car that the Honor Roll guys' got to drive, and they usually had fine looking girlfriends who did not get into much trouble. Later to become 'great soccer moms'! The Mustang fellows were usually 'pushing the envelope' and visiting the Principal's office a little more often, but somehow survived... even if only to get drafted soon thereafter. Later there were more beautiful and wiley women to 'take us less fortunate' '67-'70 Mustangers in....and if we were really 'on the ball'....we eventually joined-up with a Shelby! Whatever the path we took.....we all ended-up on the same forum, enjoying our cars and each other! I would drive that Malibu anywhere, with a big time smile on my face!! Enjoy it!!
