I found an old Cobra ad on EBay. It is so subtle it's almost unrecognizable as a Shelby ad. It is full page, color, vertical format, showing a pale yellow 260 Cobra with what looks like Shelby at the wheel coming down a dirt road(!). It has a few paragraphs of sell copy but no S H E L B Y or Cobra logo as I recall (don't have it infront of me) , so it makes me think this ad was so early that Shelby didn't even have a logo yet. The address is the Venice address which I think was only used in '62. At that stage Brock was their t-shirt designer, graphics man, driving instructor and all around gofer. Has anyone else seen this ad before or heard of it? I wonder if it was the first ever Cobra ad? Or does that honor go to the rear 3/4 view black and white ad shot by Pete Brock which I think was a half pager in Sports Car Graphic. Anpther memorable Cobra ads: the two motorcycle cops writing a Cobra owner a ticket, like to hear what your favorites are...
