Hi, I am a new member from France. I am finishing a GT350 clone (sorry !) and I want to install the oil gauge and the tach in the original pod on the dashboard (I have got all the parts from Tony Branda). I would like to have a pic of an original dash without these parts so I will see where the holes were made for the electrical wires and the oil hose. Or a good description of how it was made. Thank you very much for your help.
Hi, You just cut a hole in the middle above the radio cutout through the foam and the metal below. The hole through the the metal on my original 65 looks like it was made by a drunk with a chisel. However, it worked. Make sure you don't make the hole through the dash foam and metal behind too large. You also need a hole through the firewall for the oil line. I have seen that hole in many places on different 65's. My car has it at the left side in the air cond. cutout. Also, place a grommet in the hole before ptting the line through it. Good luck, Texas Swede
Also remember to hook all the gauge stuff (wires and tubes), the gauges themselves, the wire for the instrument lights (everything) in the "pod" then slide the wires and oil pressure line through the hole you hack in the dash. Do all of your connection completions under the hood ..(bonnet). It is impossible to do anything after the pod is attached to the dash, good luck, jimbo
