I recently purchased a nice GT-500, red 4 speed. I have LOTS of questions! I will drive this car for a few months then start the restoration in October. I will only ask a few today!! 1. There is a bead of seam sealer down both fender aprons between the apron and the fender, but mostly on the fender apron. Its looks very old. Is this correct. 2. The original door panels have two inche cracks under the Handels. How perfect are the reproductions? Should I have these repaired in stead? If so who does it? 3. Who restores stearing wheels? todd@marylandhiperformance.com
Sealer is very common under the 69 Shelby fender lips. Usually it looks like there is too much. You might try this guy www.therimblowbuddy.com for help with you 69 steering wheel. I had good luck with him Not sure about the door handle cups....but I know they are prone to cracking.
Cool Thank you. Its interesting. Of all the cars I have seen restored everyone has removed the selaer
