I know the small blocks had a emissions can under the engine block and emissions hardware in the trunk on drivers side. Randal
Here is some Pictures of a GT 350 California car. First one is emissions hardware in trunk and the second is the emissions Can under the engine. Randal
Interesting. My 69 GT350 4sp was sold through Galpin Motors in California and doesn't have any of it. It was unrestored when I purchased it in '97 - still had it's space saver spare and inflation can. Built on March 21 '69. Any thoughts? Bryan
I can not find anything either. I did see a restored GT-500 at Carslisle this past weekend that had some sort of ventilatin system on the right side. but no can, The owner was not around so i could not ask. By the looks of the rest of the car, He must belive it to be correct
My GT350 is a 1970 all numbers matching car delivered to Downey Ford in Southern Calif. I have had a number of Shelby experts that would like to purchase the Calif. emission hardware off my car for there restoration. Some of the offers are almost $2000! Randyal
There is another Calif. GT 500 on ebay right now that is a survior car with Buy it now of 200K that has the same system as soon in pictures above. Stated as: "Check out that California-only and only in 1970 trunk mounted emissions system!! Ive never seen one on a 428 CJ before. This is a SAAC documnetd car." So it must be for 70 cars only! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970...31QQihZ018QQcategoryZ6236QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I had heard that 69/70 GT500s were subject to recall after a few caught fire during fueling ops due to the rear exhaust collector's proximity to the fuel cap. But those were 500s not GT350s - maybe some 350s got the mod too as it should have fit. Bryan
You are correct there was a recall in 1969 for fires starting when owners were filling up their cars with gas. The recall on 69's was to place a vent tube inside the trunk and a non venting gas cap. RandalB)
