Just wondering what people are having to pay for a new Shelby GT? (not the 2007 GT 500) I talked to a dealer today that wants $10,000 over sticker. Anyone have any luck at or near MSRP or am I just dreaming?
    thanks
    Jon

    Re: 2007 Shelby GT Pricing

I was just watching an Ebay auction and the car was sold for $5k over MSRP. These dealers better make hay while the sun is shinning, with something like14,000 new Shelbys they will be pissing on the tires in six months....

The latest production numbers they are aiming for are 15,000 units for the Shelby GT. So there should be plenty of Shelby's to go around when you also include the GT500's.

I talked to a CA dealer yesterday and he said make an offer close to MSPR and mostly it will be taken. This is for the Shelby GT not Shelby 500.

I have seen a couple sell for MSRP and below. You should not have to pay a buyers premium on the Shelby GT, the GT500s are also dropping quickly.

I was in Las Vegas Wed-Friday and stopped by Shelby wharehouses/museum. GT's parked in various locations by the 100's waiting to be made into Shelby's. I stopped by Nevada Classics and got a ride in a CSX 1000 series cobra. Burned my leg on the exhaust on the way out but it was a fun ride. Also got a tour of the Kroyer engine shop:

There will be no Shortage of GT's from what my eye could tell.

A Friend drove up my driveway yesterday with a white one like Davids. It arrived Friday and he paid sticker. He was sitting in the office with the salesman writing the deposit check and they didn't expect it for another month when the phone rang . It was on the truck that had just pulled up. Pertty cool..Huge front sway bar.

There's one in Manchester NH with a 12.5K AMD. Hope no one is dumb enough to actually pay it.

    Hey guys,

Just talked to people at Shelby yesterday, they are only making 5,000 of the 07 shelby Gt.

So why are there different numbers out there? I would think this is very important since rarity is vital to future values.

I would love to hear more from more informed people as I am looking to buy one of these cars. Had the opp. to buy car#2 but thought 65K was just a little too much.

    Thank you everyone.

OK-I have a buddy who is looking for a new GT500-is anyone willing to share where in the US an honest guy can buy on at or very near MSRP?

I have seen some of you guys brag about your fortune in finding one at MSRP but none of you mention who the lucky dealer was that took your hard earned cash.

12 to 15 over MSRP is absolute NON-SENSE! And I know most of you guys agree. Although capitalism is fine for everything else it just should not apply to GT500's. OK all kidding aside it would be nice to know though so please, anyone who might know and is willing to share the top secret info it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks to everyone.

Oh well, I gotta fess up I paid the "stupid tax" (market adjustment) it's a beautiful car. I always wanted one, and now I can go to my deathbed knowing I had my dream. P.S. I have since found dealers here in the Lehigh Valley that are selling GT500's at or very near MSRP.

1175, I bought my 2007 SHELBY GT in NJ 0N MARCH 27,2007. The dealer wanted $10,000 over list $38,900. I paid $43,000, after showing him Shelby gts prices on Ebay. Plus i hear the 2008's will be out in August. Good Luck.

My local dealer has a GT on the lot at MSRP. They told me they will not sell any car for over sticker. I was on a call list with them for a GT500 but didn't want to chance missing my only opportunity to buy a new Shelby so I paid over sticker for mine at another dealership. Contact Don Wood Ford, Athens Ohio 740-593-6641. I imagine though that their appropriations for GT500's for '08 are already spoken for. Good luck.

After posting above I started looking at prices of the Shelby GT's elsewhere and I have to wonder if some kind of shenanigans are going on at my local dealership. The Shelby window sticker has a MSRP of 41K. Most prices I'm seeing are around 37-38K? The sticker looks like a photocopy or something. It might be legit, I don't know but I wanted you all to be aware.

Does anyone know the deal on the new GT500KR?
    Is it going to happen?

On the GT500 front, I can get a '08 GT500 for $3k over sticker if I want it.
I thought that it was not really that great of a deal, thinking that by next year they will have made enough to satisfy the market. On the other hand, there may be a ton of new buyers as the price drops. In other words, there are onyl so many buyers at $10-15k over sticker, but a whole group of people may be able to afford MSRP.

Should I hold out for the KR?

Fully loaded, a Shelby GT would be near $41,000. To tell if it is legit, Take the MSRP on the Ford window sticker, add $7390 for the Shelby mods, add another $1000 for the gas guzzler tax.
