Check out Page number 56 of "The Shelby American #71" and "The Shelby American #75". You will see an Ad for Kelsey Tire, Inc. showing an Original 1967 Shelby G.T.350 with Carroll Shelby standing with it in the Photo. The Shelby has the Center Stripe ON the Fender infront of the Door.

The picture you are referrring to is of Carroll Shelby at a much later date than 1967. This is obviously a restored car. Many details were not known when many of these cars were restored in the 70's to 90's. I'm sure there are exceptions, but regular production 67's should not be centered.

Hi again...could we be safe saying that each year shelby is/has a different rocker panel stripe? Randys question was for a 67 and I think we all became a little side tracked..yet we answered the question. We also show how the small details are noticed by some and overlooked by others..Just for the record a 69/70 has the most difficult stripe to install straight and most were crooked/tilted when originally installed. No wonder it takes so long to judge a car.Cougar raises some interesting questions that bring up one last point.Quality control is/was/has been the original selling dealers responsibility since the model T days..so if the 67 Shelby was that bad...the selling dealer was the one that had to correct it.Reading the registry gives some indication of what type of claims were made, many were mechanical lots of paint troubles..chrome pitting..you get the idea..they were the last handbuilt cars done by shelby and that is why Ford took over production in 68.

Well, I never expected so much feedback. Nice to see the interest everyone. The one thing I still need, is the placement height. Measuring up the 5 1/4" from the bottom of the fender is kind of tricky. What about a measurement from the bottom edge of the door up to the bottom edge of the first narrow stripe? This will determine the height for the rest of the stripes.

In my First Post, I said the Stripes are 1/4 Inch from the Bottom edge of the Door and someone else said 1/8 inch from the bottom edge of the Door. Try to find Advertisements of the 1967 Shelbys and see if you can get an idea.

When I put on my stripes, I did look at magazine ads, and the registry, and all of that.
So, I stand by what I said dimetionally. Plus, My car, #0036 is a SAAC Div II, and an MCA Concours Trailer Gold winner.
    'nuff said......
