Looking for any history on # 917. I purchased the car from Bob Reid in 1977, Kinnelon NJ, who ran Indy lights during the mid 90's. He ran some club races with my car before I purchased it from him. I think he said he bought it from someone in White Plains NY. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks Joe Colombo
I'm not sure. If I can get in touch with bob I will definetly get more information from him. I know he is listed in one of the early Shelby Mags (1976 or 1977) as competing in some kind of club race somewhere in the medwest. When I get a chance I will go thru my old issues. I don't think he ever ran the car in a SCCA event. He put a Hi-Po 289 in the car for better performance which is still inthe car. I am getting ready to put the proper 302 back into it. I would sure like to find Bob. My son ran into him when he was racing Indy lights for Walker Racing back in the mid 90"s but unfortunately did not get any historical info from him.
