Does anyone know where to get the seat belt retractor off a 67 Shelby rollbar repaired? Is it a repairable item?

I don't know if they can do it or not but I'd give Ssnake oyl products (sp) a try. They refurbished the belts in my old 67 GT500 and did a great job. I think they can repair retractors as well.

You bet, it's very repairable. You want to talk to Stewart at Python Restorations. He is the guy for these. he can make complete 67 harnesses, what ever you need.

Does anyone know what car the original retractors were from or where they custom made for 67 shelbys?

I'm not sure if it's a true story or not but I read once that the 67 retractors were originally used in military fighter jets.

Stewart at Python Restoration repaired my original 67 retractors. He fixed both of my tension bands and has reproduced (CNC) the plastic caps that go over the springs. I would recommend him. Don't know anyone else who can do it. SSnake Oyl can't.

Thank you very much for this contact information. I just recieved my re-built retractor and Python Restorations did a fabulous job. This is the first time the retractor has worked since I purchased the car in 1979!

I ordered a set of these and sent them back! The seat belt retractor doesn't line up with the 67 roll bar and doesn't fit in the original boot, the Y in the harness is stiched together differntly and doesn't look original. Might be fine for a replica with aftermarket roll bar, but not an original:thumbdown

I can tell from the picture that the webing is even wrong. Stuart at Python does the best job I have seen and I am very picky.
