I keep hearing rumors about Ford Dealers selling the Shelby GT's & GT 500's at MSRP. If this is TRUE, it would be nice to have a List of the Ford Dealership, City, State and Phone Number.
I talked to my local dealership and was told they absolutely would not charge above MSRP on any car. They sold two GT500's supposedly for sticker and they have a Shelby GT on the lot at sticker but it hasn't sold. I was on a call list for an '08 GT500 from them but decided to pay the premium at another dealership rather than risk missing out entirely. Somebody needs to buy this GT, if I had the extra funds it would share garage space with my GT500. The dealership is Don Wood Ford, Athens, Ohio. They told me they won't take a deposit on the GT500's until they got their appropriations for '08 and until then they were keeping a call list, first come first served. They're probably spoken for by now.
After paying the market adjustment for my GT, I started checking around and several dealers here around Bethlehem PA said, over the phone anyway, that they would sell at MSRP. here are some of the names: Lehighton Ford (888) 505-3559 Bethlehem Ford (610) 867-8641 Stateline Ford (800) 540-1966 Flemington Ford (908) 782-3673 also Myers Ford in Elkton VA had a Shelby GT in the showroom "Reduced" in June of this year. I would post the names of the dealers I know are gouging but with my luck they would sue me because they want more money! For what it's worth I went by Stateline Ford in Philipsburg NJ. yesterday, there were 5 GT500's and one White Shelby GT on the lot. Unfortunately I wasn't driving so I couldn't stop to check. Just thought I'd pass on the info. I can't verify but rumor has it Flemington Ford is now offering their GT500's at a reduced price! I heard it from my manager, who can I trust?!?!?! Good Luck all Doug
Las Vegas dealers are still charging above MSRP - 10k for GT500s - might be a function of being in the easy money town, but I got nowhere last week on a GT500 and ended up buying a Mustang GT (impulse buy ) Maybe a few months will change things here.
I just saw a post on another forum (posted today) that Red Hill Ford in PA has a black Shelby GT for MSRP. It looks as though they are starting to come down.
This would not suprise me at all. I would think that at some point the number of buyers for a Shelby GT and or a GT500 would decrease as time goes by. I had an option on a '08 GT500 at 3k over sticker, but passed thinking that I could buy one at sticker later this year. Looks like it is true.... Now the real question...what is the latest on the GT500KR's?
I am sure they will continue to come down.Even if you pay a little over MSRP right now,you can get 0% finance for 36 months on 07's from ford credit. For how long they keep it going is anyones guess. A lot of dealers don't realize that 0% is available for the Shelby's. I know when I bought my car recently the dealer was surprised.A lot of dealers on ebay are selling for 5 over and you can negotiate down after the auction is over and it doesn't sell. The 0% finance over 3 yrs translates into a lot of money that would offset over sticker amounts. Check with your bank for current rates and you can calculate the savings over 3 yrs and decide for yourself. Thats what I did . Bob
KRs in TN are selling for 160K. Dealer in Los Angelos sold one for 280K; I think he was BSing me though. KR MSRP is 79-80K. I paid 6K over MSRP for this GT500 CV. The Ambient Lighting is awesome at night, and the car has a huge reserve of power; I could tell by driving a few miles. Jim
