Can anyone tell if this a legit original CS team jacket from the 60's? It is listed on E-bay right now.
lunchpailparts is one of the ebay users that i have always watched due to their outstanding supply of shelby items. Every item that i have ever seen them list has been legit so i would have no reason to think otherwise about this item. Best Regards, Vern
I saw the jacket and questioned it's authenticity, frankly in all the research I have done on CS apparel, I have never come across any photographs of this garment. His reply to my email was, "Thanks for your input. I say the quilted jacket merely preceded this one and is better-known because 'Shelby' racing activities were reorganized within Ford's SVA during '67. Of course, that's why _this_ jacket wears a Ford dealer-type patch (not the 'bird') and, further, why there is no repro jacket made in this style." I'll ask Dave Friedman, the Shelby photographer, I should get a response in a few minutes.
Just heard back from Dave Friedman. When asked if he had an opinion about the jackets authenticity, his reply is, "I seriously doubt it. I never saw one". I would say that settles that. Unless this seller can provide visual proof I would say it's just a couple of patches sewn on a swinger style jacket. Regards,
It sold for 305.00 so im sure it is not real as any other team jacket would be far more expensive. Best Regards, Vern
