GT 500 Banner

    As if dealers arent making enough coin off the outrageous prices they are getting over msrp for the GT 500, I just got back from Bob Allen Ford in Kansas City were i was trying to buy a GT500 banner. This is the "old" yellow banner and not the GT500KR banner. They said they would settle for nothing less than 500 dollars in cash! They even stated that they regularly get 900 for them on ebay.

    I know for a fact that they dont sell for that much nor are they worth that.

    Any opinions? Can anybody possibly make a case for the dealer or are they just off their rocker?

    Well..... With all the Car Shows I go to, I usually end up getting a Company Banner as a Door Prize. If I dont hang it up at the House I will put it on Ebay. I have gotten $150.00 for a "Flow Master Mufflers" Banner, $250.00 for a "Paxton Super Chargers" Banner, $200.00 for an "Edelbrock" Banner, $175.00 for a "Vortech Super Chargers" Banner, and all of these Banners measure 3'X5'. I can only assume that the "GT 500" Banner you are talking about is an original Ford/Shelby Banner. The Banners that I have sold can't even compare to the one you want as far as Value goes. I do agree that $900.00 is a bit much but it falls under the heading of: "what are you willing to Pay to own it".

    What i am talking about is the GT500 Dealer banners. The backround is yellow and it features the frontal view of a white gt500 with blue stripes.

    I know the one you are talking about Vern, thats why I gave you the Prices of the Banners I sold, they were plain jane type Banners. The one you are talking about is not a Cheap Banner by no means. It is a whole lot nicer. $500.00 might be a good price.

    I had my dealer promise me his when it went up. when I got the Shelby GT at MSRP, he even put it in the trunk for me!

    Not at the moment as it is rolled up and down at my storage garage. they are two sided so it can be viewed from outside the dealership window as well as inside the dealership showroom. all Yellow Background and the Nose shot of the White GT500 with Blue stripes. they are very nice and were available thru dealerships for something like $116.00 dollars. I would call some other Ford Dealers and see if you can order one.

    I tried to convince my dealer to order one for me but they said that the banner is not allowed to be accessed by the general public. Im going to try some other ford dealers in the kansas city area.
