2007 Shelby GT Pricing and Production Numbers

My understanding is less than 3,000 GT500KR's will be produced. Be very surprised if any of those sell for MSRP.

 

The run will be 1000 only. All will be converted at Shelby in Las Vegas. Don't expect any of these cars to sell for under $100K. They will be sent to dealers through a lottery system so most dealers will never see one.

 

rossgt, you seem to speak with authority.
Where did you get this info? I have done some casual looking but cannot find definate info. Do you have a source?

He got his information from the Ford Dealer Web site. Only 1,000 GTKRs and are being done thru a lottey system AND as a percent of previous two years of Mustang sales by the dealership. Means a few lucky (about 60) dealers thru a lottery system and the rest to the large dealers--ugh--If i get allocation for one will post. Have offers for $10K over--boss say $20K-$25K over will buy IF we get one.

Celebrating the fortieth anniversary of the original Shelby Cobra GT500KR, Ford and Shelby collaborate on a new 'King of the Road' Mustang with the 2008 Shelby GT500KR.
Shelby GT500KR features an estimated 540-hp 5.4-liter supercharged V-8 with a Ford Racing Power Upgrade Pack, 3.73:1 rear axle ratio, short-throw shifter, and unique suspension tuning.
Exterior design draws inspiration from the classic Shelby KR Mustangs and features unique carbon composite hood, wheels, and special 40th Anniversary badging and unique striping.
Shelby GT500KR arrives in spring 2008 in an exclusive run of only 1000 units.
Allocation Plan

The limited production numbers made it necessary for the GT500KR to have a unique allocation plan.
Dealers will have three opportunities to earn allocation:
Random drawing at the 2007 National Dealer Forum, which occurred in June.
Greatest of All Time Truck Leadership Fast Start Mustang Shelby GT500 KR Lottery. Hit your objective in July and you will be entered in to random lottery drawings for 2008 Shelby GT500 KR allocation.
All remaining GT500KRs will be distributed via a random lottery drawing:
Each Region will earn allocation based on the Region's share of 2006 & 2007 retail Mustang sales. All 18 Regions (17 Contact/1 Select) will earn allocation.
Dealers in the Select Dealer Region will be entered in to the Select Dealer Region drawing and not in to their facing Contact Region's drawing.
Example:

Region A earned 10% of the Mustang GT 500KRs based their 2006 & 2007 retail sales.
Dealer ABC, who sold 5% of Region A's retail Mustangs would then receive 5% of the total "dealer chips" allocated for Region A's random draw lottery.

Regarding finding a GT 500 "at" or at least near MSRP. I worked my local Ford Dealer (DON KOTT FORD) Carson, California. who had 3 in his showroom. His first response to me was to brag about the guy who came in last saturday and paid 30K over stick. I told him I'd be back on the last day of the month and he told me not bother they'd all be gone. Long story short, I bought my dream car for $4k over and a free trailer lift home. The iron is
hot.

WTG Guy! go get 'um! I know there were at least 5 GT500's at the local dealer here too.
