Well aside from what SAAC tells you (don't put your Fomoco vin in an EBAY ad silly) how about recording who you sold your Shelby to, and turning that in to SAAC so the ownership trail has an additional way to trace ownership?
Please don't count on the new owner thinking SAAC just knows this stuff, They know what owners tell them. So, tell them who you sold it to. And watch how many get sold to some dealer who doesn't report it to SAAC.

some times the guys with the inside track @ SAAC are always the ones who get the deals. HMMMMMM.......... I guess the registry works better for some than others. I believe in the Registry, But had a Bad experience where sombody used information I submitted to go after another Car. Back in the Old days that was called Claim Jumping. You got hanged for it. The whole incident really soured me for some time. But there is good and bad in every Car group. just have to be careful about who you actually tell information to. espescially the obcessive types who have too many cars and no Real friends. :guns:

Just like them fancy Chevies, Engine, Trans, Color and options figure into price. as well as condition. I would safely speculate that if it was a a Big Block with a Shaker Hood and 4 speed with Drag Pack option, in Showroom condition, $75K bare minimum and on up to the Moon! if it is a 351 2v Automatic Car with no real options it would be Half that. any cool car with super low miles always attracts attention. Of course this is my opinion, not what would actually occur when you fill a Circus tent with Wealthy, Drunken Mid life crisis Men having drinks served by Strippers and TV cameras rolling........... :cigar:

    Re: Selling your Shelby?

I wasn't saying anything about those friends of ours at headquarters, who, should some choice car get sent in for a Snakebite ad, ah, get bought by somebody close, in the know. That isn't at all what I'm talking about.

Just suggesting that, it could be useful for the seller to report who they sold the car to. As I stated, just 1 more layer of ownership name control.

I am not saying everyone at Headquarters is Bad. But I definitely got Played and they know who they are. it is behind me now and lesson learned. I think SAAC should step into the new millenium and change a lot of things.

Is anyone aware of a person/company/club, what have you, who track the Shelby's for sale, asking price, price paid, condition, mileage, ec. etc. ?? I would like to know if such an entity exists. It could provide some general 'guidelines' for valuing a Shelby. I know all of the problems with this kind of approach. I am not looking for an appraiser or value setting company/"expert". Just a log of these facts, misleading as they might be. Responses???

Thank you Charley. But, the last posting to that site was in 2002. As we all know, the prices have shot up since then. But, thanks just the same.

That is about the only tracking of prices so far. Maybe we can get something going on this site?? Hint Hint?? Randall if you are listening, it would be good and probably get more interested Parties to log on! Is there any particular model you are interested in? I can tell you what I know. I keep a pretty good eye on the market.

Wouldn't it be interesting/informative for all of us to post info on the cars sold in our area that we know of that are under the radar screen. ...Seems to me it would be valuable info.

    Re: Selling your Shelby?

I would like to see this registry work towards something like this. This is the type of thing that could really get this site to take off. The Boss 302 registry is a very busy site that a lot of people look to for car values and restoration info, and there are some very knowledgeable people there. I would like to see this site busy like that. I know there are a lot of real talented people out there when it comes to Shelbys. We could keep it a little nicer than the Boss registry though if any of you know what I mean. I am not trying to throw stones at those that post on both sites.

It's a great idea and I'm looking into it. There are a variety of ways this can be done and in my opinion it can't be done without your and everyone elses input. We just need to be provided with the info (including all the details) from all of you guys when a car sells. I can try and get a system set up to handle this but individually, we probably only know of a handful of the latest sales so we would need to work together to get as much sales data as possible. I think it's a great idea and I know it would be very helpful. I'll keep you posted on the progress and I hope you will provide any suggestions that you think may help.

    www.NVSAAC.com

    An update is in progress.

I have saved auctions up to present....

Yes, prices have risen a lot.

As for other sites even trying to do this? I know of none.

I still can't find a good accurate source out there. Barret-Jackson results are available but those tend to be a little inflated.

    Any ideas?

Pete's been tracking 68's for over a year and has some good guidelines.
