..says howdy from the great State of Texas. I live in the capital and I've loved Cobras and Mustangs since high school. I did my level best to drag my dad to a Shelby dealer back in '67 (I was 18 yrs old then), but we wound up settling for a '68 Mustang convertible. It was a loaded beauty that I wish we still had, but the Shelby was just out of reach. A Cobra was a fantasy. Though I loved Ferrari GTOs, those slab-sided Cobras just hurt my feelings, they were so beautiful. I even like the Hawk and ERA replicas, and I still remember in 1979, I bought a Corvette and then saw a '65 GT-350 with the Cragar wheels for $10K, and a '66 (leftover '65) for $12,000 within two weeks of making that commitment. I paid more than that for the 'Vette, and it couldn't even outrun Mustangs in the early 80s. Sigh. So, I've been a day late and a dollar short, but never lost my love for theses Shelbys. I may just get one before I die. Say - anyone here buy tickets for Shelby's GT500)) raffle? The winner was supposed to be announced by now, I would have thought. Anyone know the name of the lucky winner? http://www.shelbyforums.com/forums/images/icons/icon9.gif
Thank you kindly, SHLBY66. I always thought if I had been born ten years earlier, I would have had a crack at some of these wonderful cars. And - you have TWO of them? Oh, Man. The carryover '65 I saw was 6S200; looks like you have one, too, in 6S188. You are a Lucky Man!
