Take a look at this story over at Mustang Monthly.... I read about it on stangsunleashed.com http://blogs.mustangmonthly.com/6212428/miscellaneous/watch-a-piece-of-history-get-restored/index.html Does anyone here know much about this car? If its going to auction I bet things will get interesting. By the way, my name is joseph. I love to read many forums, but rarely feel compelled to post. I've learned a lot about shelbys here. Thank you guys.
Re: A very historic 69 GT500 coming out of the woodwork? I'm sorry ... what is "historic" about the car? Great way to promote an auction and a higher price of course... and nothing wrong with that. With the market ... should be interesting, Know Jim will do a great job on the car.
Is this the same convertable that that "non-dealer dealer" from GA bought ...or didn't buy ..and it led to a court date with Shelby?
Re: A very historic 69 GT500 coming out of the woodwork? I am sure that the "Historic" angle is the fact that Carroll Shelby still owns this Car and is the original owner. Does anyone know what number it is? David.
Maroon, white gut, white top, auto a/c tilt, owned by CS since it had 8100 miles, was previously @ Imperial Palace Collection - Las Vegas Mike
I believe my brother drove that car around for about 6 weeks in the late 1980's when he broke his leg. His car was a manual and he couldn't drive it so he borrowed this car because it is an automatic. Randall
Jim Cowles and his crew have the car almost done - Duriong the day the in-house camera is on so you can view the progress. Really cool stuff http://blogs.mustangmonthly.com/621...ch-a-piece-of-history-get-restored/index.html
