I have noticed many cars with Ford Blue intake manifold bolts on the aluminum hi-rise. Was this due to the intake manifold change at Shelby and using the original bolts that were blue from original assembly?

Most people don't realize that after about the first quarter of the year 66 that Shelby had the Ford engine builders make the switch of the intake ,carbs ,oil pan , valve covers and carb instead of Shelby's people. This only would be logical . I had suspected it for a number of years but didn't have any hard evidence until I got a copy of some internal memos outlineing the need for advance orders of intakes ect. to go to the engine plant so they would be no interuption of Shelby engines . Yes the intake bolts were reused which is why they are blue.Aparently they took regular hipo engines and retrofited the intake manifolds even at the engine plant . The blue bolts can be seen all the way into 1969/70 GT350 production.Bob
