The 289 HIPO block price is not that far out of line in my opinion. You can easily expect to pay $800 to $1500 for a used Boss 302 block. Actually this 289 block could have went for more money if the guy would have known a little more about the block and it's condition. I am not impressed with the seller. Seller still wants to pay a handling fee of $50 if the buyer picks the item up. That sucks in my opinion. I am in the Detroit area. I will conduct an E-Bay search for Ford engine components out to 200 miles so that I can pick the stuff up in person. I'll be damned if I'm going to drive an hour one way and then have to pay an extra $50 when I pick it up.Full engines and short blocks are pretty heavy and normally need to go truck freight.
