Hi everyone. I'm new here. I have owned a 68 Shelby GT500 since 1971. Used it as a daily driver until wrecked in '76. Has sat under tarps since then. House, kids, college...you know the routine.

House done, kids through college, good paying job. Time is right to get her back together again. Have most of the sheet metal and fiberglass.

I know I'll be on here quite a few times looking for advice and or resources. Wish me luck!

Thanks for all the responses and encouragement. My car is...was Sunlit gold, w/ 428 SCJ, 4 speed-wide ratio, 3.89 limited slip,am/fm stereo, AC.

Man do I have some stories about this car!

I will post some pics (they are all Poloroids, so this gives you some idea as to my age) I will have to scan then post.

I was into road racing when everyone else was into Gabriel Highjackers w/ 6 inch shackles and raising the assends four inches higher than the front.

I installed under-ride traction bars and a 3/4 inch rear swaybar w/ KONI adjustable shocks at all four corners. Boy, could this thing handle! I used to take on the 'Vettes w/ no problem.

One night on my way to my girlfriends house (now my wife), I decided to take on a Pantera. BIG MISTAKE!! On a back, winding road in the country, at around 90 mph., he drops a gear and walked away from me. I was gonna get out of the car 'cause it thought I had stopped.

You guys want to see a car that could handle, watch one these things flat track around corners.

Well, that's all I can take on the way-back machine. I'll try to get the pics posted soon including the accident photos.

Thanks for listening to my memories. I got a ton of them!
