Hi guys Yes me again! Can anyone tell me where i can get the original fuel pump? All i know is that it was made by Stewart Warner and should be Model 240. But???? Is this true?? Checked out the web page of them but couldn´t find anything. Please help! Thanks Jerry
The 240 A Stewart Warner electric fuel pump was a generic pump High performance adjustable pressure unit that ran on 12 volts. They were used by many racers back in the day .Most of the R models and Cobras that used them ran them in tandem (2)for reliable back up in case one failed. They are pretty durable and if buying a used one , have it hooked up to 12volts- if you hear the thump thump of the internals it probably works if not I would stay away. Various vendors that specialize in the restoration of the Cobras and GT350 R 's always keep them on hand. They range in price anywere from 50.00 to 1200.00 depending on condition. I always keep a couple spares on hand for myself and my stuff but Fran Kress usually has them for sale.If you are not a SAAC member you should be . Besides the logical involvement with a club that specialzes in your same interest they have a bi monthly "snakebite bulletin" that normally has one or two advertised in each issue.You can google Fran Kress website.I hope this helps.

Jerry, that is the same guy. Jim Cowles at Shelby Parts and Restoration is another that might have some. He has a website. I may sell some that I have restored in the future but not at this time they are stand bys for my collection. Historically Ford racers from back in the day ran with both the rubber hose connectors or the better AN fittings. I would do the AN fittings which were normally aeroquip brand and they were the steel rather then the now common aluminum. The fittings would have been plated silver only ,not the red or blue commonly seen after 1968. When running the AN fittings the hose would be the black cloth covered hose . The braided stainless hose wasn't seen commonly until 1968. I buy my hose and connectors from a place that builds hose's for over the road trucks .I sometimes have to take certain fittings to have plated for the right appearence.You need to go to the Shelby convention or Monteray historics or other venues that R models frequent to get a better idea how the pumps were mounted ,brkts were used ,lines were run etc. if you were wanting to do a accurate representation of a R model which I assume you want to do since you are wanting to use the old style 240A pumps. Hi Thank you so much for the information. Summit also sells Aeroquip hoses in black they will be ok. Good to know the thing you say about the material of the fittings that tey where steel. I sure will take those then. I can get those from work we build helicopters and know the guys from the hydraulic shop pretty good. For me it is not easy sitting here in germany. Some of you guys only get in the car and drive to one of those conventions wich is only a few hundred miles to drive. For me that would be an more expensive trip. But you are right one day i have to see these cars in nature. I probably get a heart attack! If you have some detailed pictures could you send me some please?
