    Hi,

    Newbie here :)

I'm from London UK and am currently restoring my Mustang with the help of Roy Holmes from www.mustangworkshop.co.uk over here. My 67 GT500 is missing its shoulder harness and retractors and I would love to try to find a set.

The only problem is I live in the UK and therefore are somewhat limited to what I can find on the internet. I know it is going to be near impossible to find originals so I have resigned myself to trying to find some replicas... but also without luck.
I found a gentleman at www.shelbybelts.com, however he has stopped making them.

Does anyone have any idea where I may be able to look for a set?... is anyone else making replicas of these parts? any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

There is only one guy that can do a good job on 67's, Stewart at Python Restoration. He can fix the originals or give you a good repro retractor, boots, belts, buckles and good tags. He can do things that Shelbybelts and SSnake-Oyl can't. Highly recommend.

    His contact info is:

There is a pair on ebay from a 68 I believe.
The price is a little outragous though. $4,000 I think it was?

Yep, ebay, but they usually top $3000 (us)
Remember that the 67 Shoulder retractors are a 67 year item only. The 68/69/70 ones are the same.

    Hi,
A friend of mine in Sweden bought an original 67 pair from Perogie.
Expensive like hell, I believe $3500 or something and this was a couple
of years ago. Good luck with your search. By the way, me and my wife
drove my 67 in England and Scotland for two weeks in 1982.
Turned a lot of heads not to mention the customs guys. Almost took the
    car apart of pure curiosity.

Sorry I have not been able to access shelbyforums for a few days, apologies for the late reply.

Thanks for all of the information. Looking at those prices... perhaps I'll check out Stewart first and see what he can do... otherwise I guess loitering around on ebay is my only option :(

I had no idea they were going for so much at the moment... well at least I have the pounds to dollars rate in my favour  ;)

Texas Swede... I know what you mean...

This side of the pond this car gets a lot of attention!!
I frequently get comments... most nice... some on the lines of... 'I bet that doesn't do many miles to the gallon... you must be rich  !'

I also frequently return to the car finding people having their photos taken next to it etc. :) posing like this  or this

Do you guys have the same problem in the US??

    Hi there

    yup, I'm on mocgb too

And yes, a meet up would be great!
Unfortunately the car is with Roy Holmes from the Mustang Workshop... so I'll probably be without car for a while :(

It'll all be worth it in the end I'm sure... and hopefully I'll have it back for the summer :guitar:

Stewart at Python is the only way to go. I sent him my original 67 retractor this past summer to repair the broken rewind spring. Excellent job and he knows his stuff. He can make you anything you need. Don't waste your time anywhere else.

Re: rollbar seatbelts for 67 shelby

I was looking for those myself the other day and stumbled across a web site called shelbybelts.com I believe. The pictures looked okay, but there were no close ups. A bit pricey ($1200.00 and change) but everything with these cars is going up.

What's it worth - '67 Retractors and belts

I have a '67 GT350/500 padded roll bar, pair of retractors, boots and belts currently in a clone. Condition of all is original and very good/excellent. I've had several wanting to purchase these out of my car. I haven't been motivated until a recent trade was offered for a rare part I need. I don't see these available ever, so what's a fair price to ask? He's interested in only the retractors and belts. Yes, these are correct '67 only style original belts. They do not have the tags any longer, but I know these are reproduced with whatever date you want. The retractors work as well.

    Any ideas on a value?

Belts alone north of $1500.00 That roll bar is way valuable if the original pad on if is in perfect shape. Nobody repops that.

I found a padded 2 point roll bar available from Mustangs Unlimited. Less than $600. Take a look. Does anybody have any experience with this bar as it relates to the original?

The foam padding is completely different looking on the repro bars. Strangely a original set of 67 /Shelby harnesses will not work on the repro . Only a 68 style harness will work on the repro bar.
