Front Traction Bar Mounting Bolt Broke !

    that about says it. Original mounting bolt snapped off just below the welded bolt head. Anybody else have that happen? Just a bit a rust showing along one edge, but no more than a half a millimerter of penetration into the bolt. The rest of the metal appeared "clean" and shiney.

    Kind of exciting; a grinding noise as the traction bar swung down and dragged on the asphalt, and watching in the rear view mirror as all the spacer washers rolled away all over the road.

    Didn't think I was making enough HP to stress the mounting bolt.

    Pulled the front bracket right off the frame on mine!

    On my old Hertz car, 6S 1380, shortly after I put Nitrous and 12" wide Radial T/A's on it, I ripped the left traction bar front mount right out. The bar didn't drop to the ground, but it did make some annoying noises.

    Took the car to my welder, and had him weld both sides up.
