Hi everyone! I'm in need of wisdom, and I'm hoping someone here can help. A few years back, 7 actually, I bought my first car. It was a 1968 Cougar XR-7, and it was in pieces. Stuff was scattered everywhere, and the man told me to take it all, so I did. As I sorted through everything I found an intake with 2 4-barrel Carters and "COBRA" on the front. It has four holes under each carb. Looked to be from a small block. Off it went for powder coating, since I had intended to use it. But being the broke 15 year old I was, the car never got finished before I sold it. I kept the intake but sold the carbs. Now I'm in the process of re-building my newest project and in need of the ever important cash flow. Time to sell some stuff. Now comes my problem, I have no idea what this intake came from. Therefore I have no idea what to ask for it. Any help or tips would be a great help. Thanks in advance.

PS. I have pictures that I can email, I'll try to post them as well.

Nice Intake......the first thing I would do is take to have it Beed Blasted to remove the Powder Coating and clean it up. I haven't heard of any G.T. 350's comming out of Shelby with 2 4's but I could be wrong. I have seen 2 4's and a 289 Cobra but can't remember if the Intake had the big dip in the middle between the Carbs. Or it could be an "over the Counter Intake". With that said, it could be worth $200.00 to $1,500.00, maybe someone else will chime in soon.
    David.

It was a over the counter intake . I have seen a few 289 Cobras with this upgrade. The set up came with special Carter carburators. Too bad those are gone . I don't think the Holly's are designed to fit this intake however there are other duel four smallblock intakes that are.

I just open my Oct 07 edition of Mustang times and on page 42 is a picture of a smallblock Cobra with the same duel four intake and the carter carbs.

I'm terrible figuring out what others will pay. With that said one like you described (minus the powercoating;) sold for $465 the other day on EB**
