Did the 67 gt500 have 1.75" rear shoes or the 2" shoes?

Also, can the 2" setup be used in place of the 1.75" or were the backing plates different?

    thanks

I'm pretty sure it was the 2 1/2" set-up from the Econoline van, or the Fairlane wagon. Yes, you need the backing plates.

Would those be 10" or 11".
I believe my backing plates are 10" and I'm pretty sure the rear end is original to the car.
I can't seem to find my drums or original shoes.

The 2/12 backing plates used on 67 /68 Shelby were used on galaxie station wagons as well as others the 2 1/2 backing plates are required to use the 2 1/2 shoes.
    I hope this helps.

    It does. thanks

I was just wondering if it was still a 10" diameter drum?
Also, I need to pickup shoes, drums and hardware, Does anyone know what vehicle/year this stuff came from? Is the whole setup the same as a Galaxy?

    thanks again

Yes they are 10". NPD lists all the parts on their website including drums. I can't speak for their appearance concerning authenticity as I've never seen them

Remember that the later Galaxie (full sized ford) has a different wheel bolt pattern than the mustang/fairlane/62-68 econoline. The drums will reflect this. The backing plate bolts to the rear axle housing so it is not related to the wheel bolt pattern. The correct 2 1/2" rear brake settup is a tough find these days .. especially with old econolines being almost as collectable as mustangs.. Keep your eyes peeled for those rusted out econoline hulks with chickens living in them.. They also have manual choke cables and knobs Heh Heh!!

I have the backing plates so thats not an issue.
Everything except the drums seem readily available and fairly cheap.
Would I have any shot at finding some aftermarket Galaxy or Econoline drums through a local parts store like NAPA or Carquest?
