Didn't Chrysler offer "first chance" at Viper GTS Coupes and Prowlers to current/previous viper owners when those two were new? That seems like enthusiast loyality. It doesn't seem very different. If anything the viper club members are the "Johnny come latelys", I mean, how old is their club 13 years old (give or take a year) and hasn't SAAC been around since the mid-70's.
