We just purchased a 2007 Shelby GT that is signed by Carroll Shelby on the passenger visor. I was wondering if anyone knows how many of the 6,000 models that he actually signed. Any insight or posssible links that may send me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
Are the Shelby GT's now called .... "G.T.350's"? Great looking car but I have never heard them called such. Is that the lingo of the owners now?
Hell if I know...New to all this.. that's what the dealer called it..feel free to give the proper lingo..don't want to keep sounding like an ass
You don't sound like an ass at all. I was just.... asking the question. The Shelby GT is a great-looking car. I have just never heard them called G.T.350's. I almost bought one myself but ended up buying a '96 Shelby Viper instead. No big deal one way or the other. Your car looks super!!!
Not to worry Bullocklgh, you're not the first to call it that...it's a Shelby GT...no 350 on the end. Congratulations on your purchase! I have not heard how many he signed or if it would have been something they could have tracked or not. The signature could have happened at the factory but it could also have happened at another point in time by removing the visor and bringing it to him/mailing it to him for signature. I believe that to be the most likely answer but could be wrong. So, my guess is that not many are signed but anyone can send items to him for signature and a visor is an easy thing to remove, send in, and reinstall. Randall
Randall, you sure disappointed me. Not one.... word about my most recent purchase. Shelby Viper #12. 1 of 38. 1 of 3 in blue with LeMans stripes. Well, such is life. Full of disappointment, despair and tears.
Well, you never gave us the news in your Viper thread. I was checking there daily. Congratulations! Now you need to show us some photos of that rare find! Randall
Hey Bullocklgh, don't worry you're not alone, the salesman introduced my Shelby GT as a GT 350 also! Just proves that the salesmen don't know a certain part of their own anatomy from a hole in the ground! As far as the car goes I hope you enjoy driving yours as much as I do mine.
I had a Shelby GT pass me as it accelerated onto... I-85 a few weeks ago and it sounded awesome. Looked great also.
Hey there. My first post! More than likely the signature was purchased by the dealer. They can be had on a car part for a $250 donation to the CS charity. Barry SGT #117 www.shelbyautos.com
