The price here is kind of ridiculous.
I wanted to bid 1000 on it but it passed that in two days!

From a collector's standpoint....i hope to god that he does not reproduce it.
Im sick and tired of repops....they really screw up the market and the literature hobby.
If the buyer were to reproduce it.....it should have "reproduction" in small print on every single piece of paper. Repops are getting too close to the originals and they started off as merely a reference point.

What is insane is that the reserve still hasn't been met! I can see a couple of serious collectors trying to out bid each other, but, at $2500 and it still hasn't met the reserve is just ridiculous.

Funny thing is...i asked the seller at the beginning of the auction and he said the reserve was a smig under a grand.
Looks like we arent the only ones who are suprised about this.

    Hey Vern,
I thought the reserve would be $1000 too and even thought...just for a second...that I may bid on it. I guess if you own a Cobra, you probably have that kind of money to complete a collection of Cobra items? It does appear that everything is in mint condition...so who knows???

I would have to admit that these are the prices that these items are currently trading for.
A year ago, i saw one come on ebay and ten minutes later it was taken off....sounds like an offer that the seller couldn't refuse!
When you think about it....how many could possibly be left in the world. When the salesmen were done with these....they just probly threw them away eventually.
Does any member of the forum have one that could shed some light on this thread?
    Best Regards,
    Vern

It wouldn't bother me if the copies were maked 'repo' as I would just like to read the material.

Actually I don’t think that 5 grand would be out of line for memorabilia like this. I know how hard it is to find items in this condition so I'll guarantee that the seller isn’t going to give them away. In reality the only person that would pay the big bucks would be a early Cobra owner or a die hard collector.:cigar:

Well he did tell me that he would give them away for under 1000 if need be.

    ChiCobra,
Its good to hear that someone wants to just read the information.
Right now, repops are running willd all over the place and people who dont know what they are doing are getting seriously screwed. It would be great if all the factory literature was reproduced so long as every part of it was marked with something that made it distinguishable to any common person.
Its ridiculous that scum bags would ever make repops that are exact. These people are ruining the hobby for alot of long time enthusiasts and it really is sad.
    Best Regards,
    Vern
