Can someone please send me a photo of an original 65 GT350 715 Holley that shows throttle linkage, springs and wire routing to coil, dist etc. Have couple spring brackets and do not know which one is correct. Also want to make sure wires are routed correctly. Would also appreciate photo of oil pressure line where it exits fire wall. 5S228 Mygt350@aol.com
Thanks Jon! Sure I can do that. The hole for the oil line is normally quite close to or on the plate for the air condition cut out in the firewall. Car # 228 should have this hole. There is a grommet in that hole and the red Tach wire to the negative side of the coil is going through there as well. As regards pictures, I have restored my car and it may or may not be 100% correct as my car came out of the factory. Have seen many routings of cables and heater hoses etc. See if I can take some photos of my car tomorrow. It has the original oil line with a date coded Feb.65 tag on it and is 1/2" diameter and the carb is a 513 date coded 3259 Holley. I beg to differ. It is a very nice compliment to think it is untouched.That is my old car and I touched it . I had the engine out and did all the detailing under the hood. It was done more then 15 years ago and it has a patina on it that matchs the rest of the car . I think the guy I sold it to drove it some and things started to degrade.
WoW Now that is a statement !! This car was shown at SAAC 31 and claimed to be untouched and also on the site mentioned in the link. Thanks for clearing up the matter. Still nice to see something look genuine. May be a new thread for conversation. Thanks for sharing Bob
It was nice to see it at the convention. I tried to tell Colin but it must have gone in one ear and out the other.When Colin had it The door was painted and the speaker holes welded up in both doors or new doors put on and the speaker holes in the package tray repaired or a new package tray put in. It is a compliment that it passed the scrutiny of so many of my peers.
One thing that jumped out at me when looking at the pics is the fuel pump has a "CARTER" casting, not "CARbureTER". I know, fuel pumps wear out but at least this was one thing I noticed (before reading Bob's post) that had been "touched". Bob, were you the one who replaced the pump?
There was a generic pump on it before . I did replace the pump on the car with a button top type but it has been so many years ago I couldn't say if I put a carter or a CAR bura TER one on.
