Greetings all, as some of you know Racing Division Inc is now the sole provider of many of the Shelby Heritage Apparel including the beloved blue team shirt.

We have researched the original shirt and have designed the cut, patch, pocket and embroidery as close to the original shirt as humanly possible. The only outstanding issue is the fabric. The fabric of choice in the 60's was rayon or polyester. The use of the cotton underarm panel was for cooling since the synthetics where not the coolest material around.

So my questions to you are:

    1. Are you looking for the most authentic possible shirt for your collection regardless of comfort?

    2. Are you looking for a shirt that balances comfort & authenticity?

    3. Could you care less about being authentic, just give me comfort?

    4. I don't care just give me my old beefy T!

FYI, everything, I mean everything is made he in LA, no imports, no way.

Attached are a couple photos of our previous sample shirt, using a Cotton Lycra blend. Not available in quantities needed for production, but made a fine sample.

Let me know your opinions, production to start next week.

Looks sharp!!! I know it wouldn't be considered period authentic but how about a long-sleeve version for us guys in the colder climates???? I would buy one of each...
    Thanks,
    David

    Looks great.
As for me, I would want the most authentic material possible. If Ken Miles had to suffer, I can too.

The shirt looks terrific. Please put me down for two!!
As much as I am enamoured with Shelby, if the shirt isn't comfortable, or too hot, I'm not going to wear it.
I think cotton is still your best bet for coolness and comfort.

I believe the original shirt was a bowling shirt made by a company named King Louie. I have been the bowling business for a long time and remember selling that shirt. I'am 90% sure it was 100% cotton.

My vote is for comfort. Since it's not original, I feel it's intended use is to be worn, not collected. If I'm going wear something, I want to be comfy. The fact that it's one of the best looking Shelby shirts around is just icing on the cake. I'll be one of your first orders regardless of which direction you go, though. I just may curse you out in my head at a July Southern California car show if it's authentic :p ... all the while looking rather dapper.

Will you be making any of the old racing jackets that the team used to were. Saw some in Boulder when i was up there and one of those would be kind of cool to have.

I guess it depends on which jacket you are referring to, the white & blue "over-the-hill" quilted jacket? Or the light blue "letter" jacket. We are licensed to do either but the light blue one is already being reproduced by another licensee, the jacket is coming from China.

We have in the works a quilted drk blue, same style as the white quilted jacket, it has white stripes on the sleeves and chenille COBRA on the back. We have done a few of these for the LA SAAC Club and have the SAAC Patch, names, VIN numbers and the like.

In addition to the team shirt we are also already producing a line of vintage tee's. Also 100% LA (US) Made, pre shrunk 100% Cotton.

The e-commerce site is nearing completion where you can buy online, for now here is a preview of the current line,

Why no Prices listed with the Shirts on the Web Site? Will you have Prices listed when the Site is finished?
    David.
