It must be a 1966 T-Bird Convertable which was the last year for the Rag Tops untill the 2000 models. Those are nice cars.

No one here said the air cleaner was not correct, quite the contrary.

I have not been able to get more information regarding my car this week. I wrote the 67 registrar at saac last week but I have not heard back. Also, does anyone know what a normal time estimate it takes to fully restore a shelby like mine. I have heard very different answers.

It really depends on who is doing it.
If you plan on doing it yourself, it could take many many years depending on how much spare time you have. Mine has been on the rotisserie for about 7 years and is now just about ready to come off.
A professional shop is they way to go if you want it quick, but it's not going to be cheap.

Not to mention..... A lot of the Restoring Time is spent hunting for the right parts and waiting on the Parts to arrive.

    Alex,

I dont know what information you are seeking, but according to the registry car # 1583 was built on 4/13/67 and shipped to Wolf Motors (ny) Factory production order is marked Mahawah inventory(i guess that's where it was originally going)purchased 5/24/67 by original owner L&B auto leasing (NY)present owner not known. This will be all the info that SAAC would have in their records. A Marti Report will tell you more about what the car came with ( options, etc) As far as how long to restore this car, it really depends on who is doing it. A professional, knowing what parts are missing, would probably take at least a year to 2 years to make this car a SAAC Gold Winner.and, as I have told you before in another post, the cost is getting more expensive as time goes by. i.e. parts will be harder to find. When I looked at the car 2 years ago, I did a little homework in getting the car restored. At that time we were somewhere north of 100K..I would say that figure has at least gained 20/30 % in at today's prices.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do. I will be available for you for any information you might need.

Speaking of Restoring Costs......... How much, on average, does a Restoration Shop charge per Hour? I have noticed that most Body Shops around here have gone up to about $75.00 an hour (average).

I guess it all depends on the location. In NYC (manhattan) some resto. shops charge as much as 125/150 hour. A great resto shop in Indiana, between 50/75. So location, and competence mean everything.
