66 HiPo Pressure plate ID

Discussion in 'Shelby Mustang List' started by DMGT350@aol.com, Mar 27, 2005.

  1. Can someone please take a look and tell me if this is a 289 HiPo pressure
plate? Didn't want to bog things down for dial-up folks (like me) so the pics are
    posted on this website:

It does have 9 green springs but any traces of a bronze paint daub are long
gone. The plate diameter is 10-7/16 inches. Are there any other identifying
    marks/numbers that would be helpful?

It came in a box of parts when I bought 6S1757 in 1987. The car had a very
stiff competition clutch at the time left over from it's road racing days which
I replaced with a Centerforce dual friction unit when the engine was rebuilt.

    Thanks!
    Dave
