Well, it's always nice to meet other Ford people, and in this case Shelby folks! I found this page trying to research a 715 CFM carb that I got a 'deal' on. As I don't own a Shelby, I probably won't post on here a lot.

I do however, own a few Mercury Cougars, and spend a lot of time on mercurycougar.net

Same name, "woodsnake". For those of you who don't know, a 'wood' "snake" is a chinese astrological name. They have a different calendar, and so my name is the year of the snake, with a wood element. You could be a metal monkey, and not even know it!

Any way, on to business. I was thinking that a 715 cfm marine body, with the new fuel bowels from branda would be a workable re-creation. Does any one have any experience with this? My goal is not to try and "sell" a copy to someone else. I have 67 XR7 that I am planning the engine on, and have an "A" code 289 donor out of a ranchero that came with the buddy bar valve covers. My goal is period correct-ish resto mod, but I'm not paying 950.00 for a new 715.
Thanks for keeping the faith for the Ford community,
Those of you who own 'real' Shelby's are very fortunate!

Welcome, there are a few Cougar owners here including myself. I have a 68 XR7-GT with a S-code 390. Good luck, I am sure someone here will have the info you seek.
